Copy trading on Robinhood Chain: how it works and what can go wrong
TrnchLabs
What copy trading means on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663): following wallets on chain, copy trading bots, the traps of copying memecoin buys, and how to keep control of your trades.
Copy trading means repeating the trades of another trader. On a CEX it is a feature of your account. On Robinhood Chain, every trade is public: any wallet can be watched on the explorer, and a bot can buy when that wallet buys. It sounds simple. Here is what actually happens when you copy memecoin trades on chain.
How copy trading works on chain
- You pick a wallet whose past trades you like, on the explorer or a wallet tracker.
- A bot or alert watches it and buys the same token when it buys.
- You sell when it sells, or on your own rules.
Why copying memecoins is harder than it looks
You always buy after the wallet you copy, at a higher price, often in the same block as other copiers. On a thin pool, each copier pushes the price up for the next. When the leader sells, the copiers sell into each other. The leader's results are not yours.
The traps
- Bait wallets: a wallet with a perfect record can be run to attract copiers, then buy a token its owner is about to dump.
- Insider buys: a wallet that buys first may be linked to the deployer. You copy the setup of a rug.
- Honeypots and taxes: copying a buy does not prove you can sell.
- Gas and slippage: every copied trade pays them, the winning ones and the losing ones.
Keep control
Size each copied trade to the pool, set your own exit, and check every token before you buy, whoever bought it first. Never give a copy trading service your recovery phrase or private key: a bot that needs it can empty your wallet.
Where Trnch fits
Trnch has no copy trading feature. The Heat lists new Robinhood Chain tokens a few seconds after their pool goes live, after TIA has kept out tokens linked to past rugs, honeypots, heavy sell taxes, scam contracts and copycats. If you run your own bot, the Trnch Bot API quotes each swap across KyberSwap, 1inch, Uniswap, LI.FI and Sushi and builds it for your wallet to sign.

Should I give a copy trading bot my private key?
No. Anyone with your private key or recovery phrase controls your funds.
