How to spot a rug pull on Robinhood Chain before you buy
TrnchLabs
The warning signs of a rug pull on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663): liquidity you can pull, sell taxes, honeypots, copycats and launches that dump minutes later.
A rug pull is a token built to take buyers' money: the team pulls the liquidity, blocks sells, or dumps a hidden supply once enough people have bought. New tokens launch on Robinhood Chain every minute, and most of the traps look the same from one launch to the next. Here is what to check before you buy.
1. Who controls the liquidity
The pool is where your exit lives. If the deployer can withdraw the liquidity whenever they want, they can empty the pool and leave you holding a token nobody can buy. Liquidity that is burned or locked cannot be pulled; liquidity held by a wallet can.
2. Can you sell
- Honeypot: buys go through, sells revert. The chart looks alive because only buys can happen.
- Heavy sell tax: the sell works, but most of it is taken by the contract.
- Blocklist or switches: some contracts let the deployer turn on a tax or block wallets after launch.
3. Who holds the supply
A few wallets holding a large share of the supply can dump it at any time. Watch for supply that sits with the deployer or wallets it funded, and for launches where many wallets buy in the same block: they often sell together too.
4. Is it the real token
Copycats borrow the name and logo of a token that is already trending. A ticker proves nothing: always check the contract address against the one the project shared.
5. Who launched it
Deployers often launch again after a rug, from a fresh wallet funded by the old one. A deployer linked to past rugs is a strong warning sign.
How Trnch helps
Every new token is screened by TIA before it can enter the Heat. Tokens linked to past rugs, honeypots, heavy sell taxes, scam contracts and copycats are kept out, and Trnch refuses to route a swap into them. You can check any address in Trnch Tools, and every TIA decision is public on the TIA track record. It is a signal, not a promise: new tokens stay risky, and you decide what you buy.
FAQ
What is a rug pull?
A token designed to take buyers' money, by pulling the liquidity, blocking sells or dumping a hidden supply.
Can a token with locked liquidity still crash?
Yes. Locked liquidity cannot be pulled, but holders can still sell and drain the pool. Check who holds the supply too.
How do I check a token on Robinhood Chain?
Paste its address in Trnch Tools, or open the Heat, where tokens TIA keeps out never appear.
Does a clean check mean I cannot lose money?
No. A check removes known traps, not market risk.
